Residential work is a very personal area of engagement with an architect as it requires a detail level of understanding in the way clients live their lives, what their aspirations and aims are. Notwithstanding that, cost and its control can be an area of tension as the expenditure is a very personal issue. It is therefore important when undertaking high value bespoke design solutions that there is transparency in the process all the way through and clients understand the costs at each stage and the implications of decisions to make changes.

Multiple residential is challenging given the end user is often market demand driven and developer led.
